Care & Handling
Your fine art print and premium frame are crafted to last a lifetime. With just a little care, you can ensure your artwork remains a beautiful and vibrant centrepiece in your home for years to come.

Handling Your Framed Art
When moving or repositioning your framed art, always handle it with care to prevent damage.
- Use Two Hands: Always carry your framed art with two hands, supporting it from the sides. Avoid holding it by the top of the frame or the wire, as this can put unnecessary stress on the frame's corners and hardware.
- Keep it Upright: When transporting or storing your art, keep it in an upright, vertical position. Laying it flat on its back or face can cause bowing and damage to the frame.
- Protect the Acrylic: Be careful not to press on the acrylic or the print itself, as this can leave fingerprints, smudges, or cause a scratch.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular dusting is the best way to keep your framed art looking its best.
- Dusting the Frame: Use a soft, dry cloth (like a microfibre cloth) to gently wipe dust from the frame. Avoid using feather dusters which can simply move dust around.
- Cleaning the Acrylic: For a more thorough clean, use a lint-free cloth and a small amount of an acrylic-safe cleaner. Never use ammonia-based cleaners as they can damage the acrylic. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth first, not directly onto the surface. This prevents any liquid from seeping behind the frame and damaging the print. Wipe the acrylic with a gentle, circular motion.
Environmental Protection
The environment in which you display your art plays a significant role in its long-term preservation.
- Temperature & Humidity: Protect your framed art from extreme changes in temperature and humidity. Avoid hanging it in bathrooms, kitchens, or above heaters, fireplaces, or air conditioning units. Fluctuations can cause the timber frame to expand and contract, which may lead to warping or cracking.
- Pest Control: Ensure the area where the art is displayed is free of pests, as some insects can be drawn to and damage the paper or timber.
- Sunlight: As mentioned in our Hanging Guide, avoid hanging your art in direct, harsh sunlight. The UV rays can cause the print to fade over time. The UV protection on our acrylic will significantly reduce this risk, but avoiding direct sunlight is still the best practice for long-term preservation.
